Chiang Rai was a provincial capital in the Old Siam. It was here that King Mengrai ruled in the 13th. century. From here, the young leader rode into Chiang Mai after the fall of Pagan in 1247.King Mengrai formed a strong alliance with the king of Sukhothai and eventually the entire north was under his rule. He consolidated his powers by merging the different city states in the North and found The Lanna Thai Kingdom in 1296 ( Land of Million Thai Rice Fields ) with Chiang Mai as the capital.

For Centuries, Chiang Rai thrived on a culture based on simple subsistence farming. Today, capitalizing on the hilltribe culture and the attraction of the mighty Mekong River, the city is coming on its own as a tourism destination.
The city derives its beauty from its majestic mountains.As one heads out of town, Myanmar with its terrain an lush vegetation comes into view.. Eastward, the landscape changes. The timeless, virgin territory of Laos rises over the fast - flowing Mekong River. As mountain peaks gradually lowers, there is an awareness of a cultural change.
Chiang Rai is one of the last remaining tourist frontiers of Thailand. It is the northernmost province situated on the Kok River basin 416 meters above sea level, with an area of 11,678 square kilometers. Scores of travelers come for its natural attractions. |

| DAY.1 Drive north through valleys and mountains via Wiang Papao Route, visit the natural hot spring for a coffee break and use clean toilet, then 10 minutes drive to holy fish lake in Mae Kachan to feed thousands of fish as the villagers always buy fish and release them in the lake on their festive occasion. It is one of the way of Buddhist merit makings, then an hour drive north to Charin Garden to taste the famous rose tea & homemade fruit pies. Drive straight through Chiang Rai and visit tibal villages such as Akha, Yao and the Padaung Longnecked - the tribe who wear rings around their necks to protect them from evil apirits. |

| Then 45 minutes drive to Mae Sai ( Thailand - Myanmar border ), eat lunch at the border and wander along the busy border market. The next destination is Golden Triangle where the 3 countries meet, have the speedy boat trip on The Mekong River, sail around The Golden Triangle Area and along Thai - Laos border, make a stop to visit Laos for an hour, then get off the boat in Chiang Saen. Then drive back to Chiang Rai.
Overnight stay in Wiang Inn Hotel. Enjoy the evening walk in Chiang Rai night bazaar. |

DAY.2 Select to have golf game in Santiburi Golf Resort OR The Waterford Valley Golf Club.
Tee Time around 7.20a.m. - 8.00 a.m.
After golf game - eat lunch at Rim Kok Resort, then drive back to Chiang Mai on the same route. Stops are made at the white temple ( Wat Rong Khoon ) which built by the famous Thai artist. Do not miss to taste the coconut ice-cream and the baby pineapple. The agent will take care of these two. Then drive to Cabbages & Condoms for a coffee break and straight to Chiang Mai. |
